Artistic Board Applications for the 2021 Production

Applications for Knight Theatre’s Artistic Board are now open! If you are interested in becoming a member the Artistic Board for the 2020-2021 season, please fill out this application.

Wondering what each position entails? Below is a description of each position:

Stage Director

The Stage Director (formally titled as the artistic director) will oversee the Production with respect to all dramatic aspects. Duties of the Stage Director include but are not limited to: auditioning and casting, facilitating all stage direction rehearsals, coordinating with the Directors and Choreographer in the creation of the Master Cast Rehearsal Schedule, and creating a blocking/choreography schedule with the Choreographer that is included in the Master Production Schedule. 

Vocal Music Director

The Vocal Music Director will oversee the Production with respect to all vocal music aspects. Duties of the Vocal Music Director include but are not limited to: auditioning and casting, adjusting vocal parts, facilitating all vocal music rehearsals, coordinating with the Sound Designer on microphone assignments, coordinating with the Directors and Choreographer in the creation of the Master Cast Rehearsal Schedule, and creating a vocal music schedule that is included in the Master Production Schedule.

Instrumental Music Director

The Instrumental Music Director will oversee the Production with respect to all instrumental music aspects. Duties of the Instrumental Music Director include but are not limited to: auditioning and casting, adjusting pit sections, facilitating all instrumental music rehearsals including the Sitzprobe, coordinating with the Sound Designer on pit sound levels, coordinating with the Directors in the creation of the Master Pit Schedule, and creating an instrumental music schedule that is included in the Master Production Schedule.  

Technical Director

The Technical Director will oversee the Production with respect to all technical aspects.  Duties of the Technical Director include but are not limited to: overseeing all production designs; facilitating all crew hours; coordinating with the Directors in the creation of the Master Technical Schedule; creating a technical schedule, which may or may not include cast members, that is included in the Master Production Schedule; creation of a strike plot three days before strike; and coordinating meetings with Artistic Designers on an as-needed basis. 

Scenic Designer

The Scenic Designer will be responsible for designing all scenic aspects of the production. Duties of the Scenic Director include but are not limited to: coordinating with the Technical Director, assisting in directing and rendering the set, assisting the Technical Director in any way that is necessary, aspects; and assisting in coordinating meetings with Artistic Designers on an as-needed basis.
